Resources During COVID-19
Dear HANA community,
As a follow up to our email yesterday, we would like to share this list of resources we’ve compiled:
Find food: Local food banks based on your zip code, Chicago Public School food distribution sites for CPS families
Request and provide help through local mutual aid efforts: Chicago COVID-19 Hardship and Help Page - English & Spanish, Chicago COVID-19 Mutual Aid Volunteer Sign-up, No Space for Hate COVID-19 Mutual Aid
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity is applying to the federal Small Business Administration for a statewide economic injury declaration. Once approved, this will allow businesses across the state to access disaster assistance loans.
Access to healthcare during COVID-19:
All people living in Illinois have the same access to healthcare and testing: English, Spanish
Undocumented immigrants living in Illinois are eligible for financial assistance at non-profit hospitals including Swedish Hospital, Advocate, and John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County (Cook County Hospital): English, Spanish
Managing stress and anxiety during COVID-19: CDC’s Managing Stress During COVID-19, Parent/Caregiver Guide from National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) - English & Spanish, Free Online Meditations through Headspace
Free Wi-Fi through Comcast Xfinity (you do not need to be an Xfinity subscriber)
Bartender Emergency Assistance Program for bartenders and their spouses/children (you do not need to be a USBG member to apply)
We hope that you are staying up to date with the latest COVID-19 developments. In addition to the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Center for Disease Control (CDC), and World Health Organization (WHO), Illinois Governor Pritzker delivers a daily press briefing each day at 2:30 pm.
We are committed to supporting our community through this health crisis. Please remember that if you need assistance, you can call HANA Center at 773-583-5501, and a staff person will answer and direct you to the appropriate program areas. You can also email us at info@hanacenter.org.
In solidarity,
The HANA Center Team
