HANA Center invites you to join us at our 2024 MODU Gala!

MODU (모두) means “all” in Korean, and we are proud to celebrate all that our community has accomplished together with all of our HANA friends and family.

HANA continues to build the power of Korean, Asian American, and multiethnic immigrant communities in Chicagoland through social services, education, culture, and community organizing to advance human rights — including a pathway to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented immigrants and adoptees. Your support is vital to these crucial efforts!

Each gala ticket purchase includes admission to the event, cocktail hour, dinner, and a gala program filled with celebration of our beloved community!

  • Early Bird rate (ends on 5/24): $125 per ticket

  • Standard rate: $150 per ticket

2024 COMMITTED TO JUSTICE AWARDEES

Kathy Im is the Director of the Journalism and Media program at the MacArthur Foundation. Kathy is also Chair of the Advisory Board of UC Berkeley School of Journalism, a Board member of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a member of the Harris Council at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy Studies, and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Previously, Kathy was Board Chair of Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy and Co-founder and Co-chair of the Asian Giving Circle. For over twenty years, Kathy and her husband have been steadfast supporters of Asian American nonprofit organizations in Chicago, particularly HANA Center and KAN-WIN.

The Arab American Action Network (AAAN) strives to help empower the Arab community in Chicagoland by building its capacity to be an active agent for positive social change. With strategic programming in the areas of community organizing, advocacy, adult education, social services, youth development, arts and culture, and forging productive anti-racist coalitions and alliances with other oppressed communities, the AAAN envisions a strong Arab community whose members have the power to make decisions about actions and policies that affect their lives; and have access to a range of social, political, cultural, and economic opportunities in a context of equality and social justice.

The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) has collaborated with HANA since 2004, increasing access to nutritional, medical, behavioral health, housing, and employment resources for limited-English speaking communities. Since 1986, ICIRR has worked diligently to promote the rights of immigrants and refugees to full and equal participation in the civic, cultural, social, and political life of our diverse society. In 2002, ICIRR established the first permanent line item in the state budget dedicated to Immigrant Services in the country. Since March 2017, ICIRR’s efforts led to the creation of the Cook County Direct Access Program, which has expanded healthcare services to over 25,000 individuals. HANA Center and ICIRR have collaborated on impactful campaigns at both the city and the federal levels to support immigrant rights and immigration reform, including the federal DREAM Act, a pathway to citizenship, and the Illinois TRUST Act.
