The People's Academy is HANA's racial justice program, created and led by our Racial Justice Committee, in collaboration with Geobuki Hakkyo (School of Turtles, also known as GBG). GBG launched the People's Academy program in 2023, and we're excited to continue this important work in 2025.

In our Fall Session, we are focusing on the intersection of immigration and anti-Blackness. 

SESSION 2: 10/2/2025 @ 7-8:30 p.m. (Online)

In this session, we’ll have a conversation with United African Organization (UAO) and Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC), local groups advocating for African and Black immigrants in Illinois, to help us better understand the issues Black immigrant communities face and how we can build deeper solidarity.

이번 세션에서는 일리노이 아프리카 연합(UAO)과 시카고 아이티계 미국인 박물관(HAMOC)과의 대화를 통해, 일리노이 내 아프리카 및 흑인 이민자들을 위해 활동하는 지역 단체들의 이야기를 듣습니다. 이를 통해 흑인 이민자 커뮤니티가 직면한 과제를 더 잘 이해하고, 더 깊은 연대를 구축할 방법을 모색합니다.
