Korean Bilingual Family Support Network Hotline Coordinator
HANA Center (HANA) is a Chicago-area non-profit organization working to meet the critical needs of Korean, Asian American, and multiethnic immigrant communities and build power toward systemic change. HANA Center has offices in Chicago and Prospect Heights, Illinois.
The Family Support Network (FSN) Hotline was created by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) to provide information and referral services to community members facing deportation crises and has evolved into a hub that also provides information about the latest developments affecting our immigrant community, such as DACA, ICE raids, and other issues. It has been operating since October 2011, providing information to immigrants throughout Illinois. HANA partners with ICIRR to provide immigration and public benefits services for low-income, limited English speaking immigrants, and is a member of the Action Council which directs ICIRR’s strategy regarding advocacy and organizing.
Position Summary:
HANA’s Family Support Network (FSN) Coordinator provides hotline support in Korean and manages and coordinates hotline staff to ensure coverage from Monday through Friday 7am-7pm when the hotline is live, supports the program to respond to inquiries and questions from hotline callers, and collaborates with other HANA services and other community-based organizations in Illinois to increase the impact of the FSN Hotline.
Major Responsibilities:
Staff the FSN Hotline, assess needs for Korean callers, and facilitate connections to appropriate services and information to meet identified needs
Participate in trainings to stay up to date on changes in program related regulations, policies, and program evaluation activities
Recruit and train part-time contractor hotline staff
Coordinate part-time contractor hotline staff to answer the FSN hotline and ensure coverage during hotline hours
Refer callers facing immigration enforcement to rapid response organizations and provide interpretation services for callers as needed
Attend relevant meetings with ICIRR and attend/coordinate internal team meetings as needed
Maintain accurate program documentation and provide timely information as requested for grant reporting and communications
Other duties as assigned

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with people of diverse social, faith, economic, and racial / ethnic backgrounds
Experience supporting low-income, recently immigrated community members
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet established timelines and goals
Excellent organization and analytical skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
College degree or equivalent life experience preferred
Bilingual in Korean and English languages required
Basic computer proficiency required; experience with Microsoft and Google suites strongly preferred; experience using Salesforce for case management is a plus
Willingness to have a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Valid driver’s license, access to a car, and ability to travel between HANA Center Chicago locations and Northwest Center in Prospect Heights
Reports To: Senior Manager of Social Services
Compensation: This is a part-time position for 20 hours per week with an hourly rate range of $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
